Donation Disclaimer

Transparent giving. Clear terms.

Everything you need to know before you contribute.

We welcome your generosity. This page explains different types of giving to Karma Samaj Foundation — and the terms that apply to each.

We believe in complete transparency — no hidden conditions, no ambiguity.

1

Two Types of Giving

🏦 Type 1 — Donations to Karma Samaj Foundation

Money donated directly to KSF — to our bank account, through our payment gateway, or at our events.

These donations are:

  • Held by Karma Samaj Foundation in trust
  • Used exclusively for charitable purposes per our Trust Deed
  • Tracked and documented in audited accounts
  • Eligible for 80G deduction — once our 80G registration is granted

You receive:

  • An official receipt for record-keeping
  • An 80G receipt — once registration is confirmed
  • Annual impact reports showing how donations are used
🤝 Type 2 — Direct Giving Through Connect & Help

Money given directly to an individual in need — identified through our Connect & Help platform. KSF is a facilitator, not intermediary.

These donations are:

  • A direct transaction between you and the recipient
  • Not held or processed by Karma Samaj Foundation
  • Your responsibility to verify — KSF does not verify needs
  • NOT eligible for 80G deduction under any circumstances

You receive:

  • A thank you message from the recipient
  • An impact story — if you choose to follow up
  • No tax receipt — this is personal giving, not charitable donation
2

Refund Policy

We understand that circumstances change. Here is our refund policy for each type of giving.

Donation Type Refund Eligibility Process
Type 1 — Donation to KSF Refundable within 30 days of receipt — for any reason Email karmasamajfoundation@gmail.com with your receipt and bank details
Type 1 — After 30 days Refund is not applicable — donation is spent toward our mission Not available
Type 2 — Direct Giving Not available — this is a personal transaction between you and the recipient Resolve directly with the recipient
Important: Once a Type 1 donation is spent toward our mission — no refund can be issued. Refunds are only issued within 30 days of receipt when the funds remain unutilized.

Disclaimers

Please read these carefully before donating.

Donation to KSF — Type 1 — Disclaimers:

  • We accept no liability for consequences of any changes in tax laws or 80G eligibility status after your donation
  • If your 80G deduction is denied by Income Tax authorities due to your own tax filing or circumstance — KSF is not liable
  • Donations are non-refundable after 30 days — even if you change your mind about the cause
  • KSF reserves the right to use donated funds for any charitable purpose within our Trust Deed — not necessarily the specific project you may have intended
  • We may decline donations from sources that KSF believes to be inconsistent with our values or legal standing
  • No donation gives you a voice in organisational decisions — KSF is governed by our Board of Trustees

Direct Giving Through Connect & Help — Type 2 — Disclaimers:

  • Karma Samaj Foundation does not verify the authenticity of posted needs
  • Karma Samaj Foundation is not responsible for the actions or honesty of users
  • You donate at your own risk — KSF provides only a platform, not a guarantee
  • If you suspect a fraudulent need — report it to karmasamajfoundation@gmail.com, but KSF will not pursue legal action on your behalf
  • Any financial loss or dispute is between you and the recipient
  • KSF will not recover money given to fraudulent recipients
Important for Direct Giving: Exercise due diligence. Verify recipient stories. Contact them directly. Ask questions. The platform facilitates — you take the risk.
4

Tax Disclaimer

We cannot and do not provide tax advice. The tax treatment of your donation depends on your personal tax situation.

  • 80G deduction eligibility depends on your income level, applicable limits under Section 80G, and your filing status
  • You must consult with a qualified tax professional before claiming deductions
  • An 80G receipt issued by KSF is proof of donation — not tax advice
  • KSF is not responsible if your 80G deduction is disallowed by Income Tax authorities
  • For corporate donations and CSR eligibility — consult your finance and compliance teams
  • Direct donations through Connect & Help are not eligible for any tax benefit — under any circumstances
Please consult a qualified Chartered Accountant or tax advisor for your specific situation.

  • If you believe funds have been misused — you have the right to file a complaint with the Income Tax Department
  • Charity Commissioner complaints are also available for gross misuse
  • KSF publishes annual audited accounts — you can review them to verify fund utilisation
We are committed to transparency. Audit our accounts. Ask questions. We will answer.
