A free health screening at every camp checks pulse, temperature, BP, and haemoglobin before donation. More details at karmasamaj.com/donors-world/blood-donation/eligibility
You can donate whole blood once every 90 days (3 months). Regular donation is encouraged — it saves more lives and has documented health benefits for the donor. More details at karmasamaj.com/donors-world/blood-donation/eligibility
Yes. Regular blood donors are less likely to suffer a heart attack and develop cardiovascular disease. Donation removes 225–250 mg of excess iron, protecting the heart. Every donation includes a free health screening. (Source: eRaktKosh — Ministry of Health & Family Welfare)
The actual donation takes 8–10 minutes. Including registration, health screening, and post-donation rest — plan for approximately 30–45 minutes total.
Delhi NCR alone faces a shortage of 1,00,000 units of blood every year. (Source: eRaktKosh — Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India). Donated blood has a shelf life of only 35–42 days, creating a constant need for fresh donations.
eRaktKosh is the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare's national blood services platform — providing real-time blood availability, blood bank directories, and camp schedules. KSF has no connection with e-Raktkosh. We have provided useful links of this Government website for the benefit of visitors at our portal. As it is Government's website, it is quite obvious that it contains much more and deep information and shows more updated information regarding availability of blood in hospitals & blood banks. KSF is the human connection — e-RaktKosh portal is the official national database.
Visit karmasamaj.com/donors-world/blood-donation/organise-a-camp and fill the camp request form. KSF will arrange hospital/ blood bank partnership, medical team, equipment, donor registration, and certificates. You just need to provide the venue and help spread the word and ensure sufficient number of registrations of the willing blood donors. Minimum 3 weeks prior information is preferred.
Carry a valid photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, Driving Licence). Have a light meal before coming. Wear comfortable clothing with sleeves that roll up easily. You will receive light refreshments at the camp.
You should wait 6 months after a tattoo or piercing before donating. This is a temporary deferral — you can donate after the waiting period.
